"La tía fingida" According to Martín Fernández de Navarrete’s Copy: The Discovery of a Manuscript Copy

This article studies the manuscript copy of the novel La tía fingida that was made at the beginning of the nineteenth-century for the Cervantist Martín Fernández de Navarrete and that he himself checked against the original, known as Códice de Porras. This handwritten copy, which was thought to be lost, allows us to know what the copy that serves as its model was like and also the errors that were made in the copy that was made of it, released in 2016, and which is at the base of the first edition of the work, the one made in Berlin in 1818. This handwritten copy, when checked against the original, is the most authoritative testimony for future modern editions of the work, so a paleographic transcription of it is given at the end of this article.
